One-day sale on Windjammer Barefoot Cruises

Sweltering summer days may not tempt you to daydream about the Caribbean, but a low price on a cruise just might get you off that lounge chair. Windjammer Barefoot Cruises is having a one-day sale, and prices start at $499. If you’re interested, put down that lemonade because the cheap fares will expire at 5:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 21.

You can book a standard cabin for $499 or an upgraded cabin for $599 on any August or September Windjammer sailing. Prices are per person based on double occupancy and you’ll have to pay in full when you make your reservation. As these voyages are last minute, not all cabin categories may be available on your preferred date.

Just remember that what you get for this low rate is a little different than what you’d get on a Carnival or Norwegian cruise. Windjammer’s ships are tall sailing ships rather than traditional cruise ships. They’re a lot smaller and don’t have as many luxurious elements. The experience is much more like being a pirate. The atmosphere is very casual, the guests entertain each other with parties and deck games, and the ship can pull into small harbors where the mega-ships can’t go.
