Cheap third and fourth guest rates on Royal Caribbean

Take that, Carnival! Royal Caribbean is not going to let its competitor woo families and budget travelers with its low [% 331976 | | third and fourth guest rates %]. To trump Carnival’s one-day sale and prices from $149, Royal Caribbean is touting rates from $99 per person for third and fourth passengers in a single stateroom.

According to the fine print, the offer is available through April 9 on select Bahamas, Bermuda, Caribbean, Europe, and Mexico cruises departing between August and December, 2006. However, there is one June departure listed. Thanksgiving sailings are not eligible for the low rates.

Disclaimer: I don’t know for sure that Royal Caribbean and Carnival are actively engaged in a fare war. But I do know that now is a great time for travelers hoping to fit three or four in a cabin to book their sailings. Who knows, maybe Norwegian will soon enter the fray with a sale of its own.
