American Bonus for Full-Fare Europe Flights
The best promotions are those that are both generous and accessible.
This offer from American is generous enough, but its restriction to premium and full fares puts it out of reach for many leisure travelers.
Between now and August 31, AAdvantage members can earn bonus miles for flights on American, US Airways, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, or OpenSkies between the U.S., Canada, or Mexico and Europe.
Bonuses for roundtrips are as follows:
- First or business class - 25,000 miles
- Premium economy - 10,000 miles
- Full-fare economy - 5,000 miles
One-way flights earn half the above number of bonus miles.
The bonus may be earned for a maximum of four round-trips.
Registration is required.
(For those who are so inclined, there's a British Airways version of this promotion here.)
Deal or No Deal
If you're flying in coach, on a restricted, advance-purchase fare -- as are most flyers -- this promotion is simply a non-starter.
On the other hand, if you're flying on a pricier ticket, the bonus miles -- especially for premium economy and above -- are definitely worth factoring into your Europe trip planning. They could be difference-makers.
